Metadata in Files

Vy Bildbank automatically reads metadata from files so titles, tags etc. are in place immediately and are searchable.

Fields used

The following are the main metadata fields we use.

Workflow Photoshop

1. The tool for managing metadata in Photoshop is in the menu under "File" -> "File info"
2. Basic information is entered in the first tab "Description"
3. The file's title is entered in the "Document title" field. (2-4 words)
4. Under "Author", photographer information can be entered
5. In description, enter a description of the file. (140-200 characters)
6. Keywords (tags) should preferably be entered according to the predefined tags your organization has chosen
7. Copyright status should preferably be specified
8. Remaining information is entered under the second tab "IPTC"
9. Contact information, creator is taken from previously filled in Author. Otherwise, the media bank's address should be specified here. Email and web address should also be specified.
10. The last step is to enter State (state/province), City and Location (sublocation). Entered under the "IPTC Image" section
